On March 21st, the research team from Institute of West-African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) paid a visit to Institute for African Studies, GDUFS. Guided by Yao Guimei, the team consisted of six members. A seminar on African economic was held in IAS and hosted by Liu Jisen, executive president of IAS. Attending the seminar were researchers from CASS, including An Chun Ying, Yang Baorong, Liu Naiya, Feng Jihua and Zhang Chunyu, Liang Lijun, executive director of Research Center for Trade and Investment in Africa, GDUFS, as well as Zeng Yuran, executive director of Research Center for Global Marketing of Chinese Brand.

Prof. Liu Jisen extended warmly welcome to the research team. He made a report about IAS, concerning the research orientation, the coordination with national, provincial and municipal central work, the usage of resources of consulate-generals, chambers of commerce and international students, as well as the international plans.

Yao Guimei made an introduction about the major research fields and achievements of Institute of West-African Studies, CASS, and the future plans of the newly-established Institute for Chinese African Studies. She maintained that IAS and Institute for Chinese African Studies could cooperate in information sharing, research projects and international forums.
