On December 7th, 2018, Symposium on China (Guangdong)-Sudan Cooperation on Oil Industry was held by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Africa Guangdong Business Association. Attending the symposium were Mr. ADAM YOUSIF MOHAMED MOHAMEDAIN, Consul General of Consulate General of Republic of the Sudan in Guangzhou, Mr. Chen Yuejin, Vice Chairman of Africa Guangdong Business Association, Miss Huo Jiangtao, Vice Chairman and Secretary of Africa Guangdong Business Association, Mr. Liu Jisen, Director of Center for International Economic and Trade Studies and Executive President of IAS, GDUFS, Mr. Ren Zhouquan, Director of School of Education for International Students, as well as 13 international student representatives.
In the opening speech, Mr. Chen Yuejin made a concrete introduction to Africa Guangdong Business Association, including its main departments, businesses and background, with the hope that the symposium would enhance the understandings of the development of Sudan oil industry and promote China-Sudan cooperation.

Later, Mr. ADAM YOUSIF MOHAMED MOHAMEDAIN made a brief introduction to the role Consulate General of Republic of the Sudan in Guangzhou played in economic cooperation between China and Sudan. He thought highly of the symposium.
Mr. Liu Jisen delivered a speech.
Mr. Liu Jisen made an introduction to the research conducted by IAS and the current situation of Chinese enterprises’ investment in Africa. He encouraged Sudan students to share ideas and provide more information about the development of Sudan oil industry so as to promote further cooperation.

In Q&A section, Sudan students shared their ideas on the application for business license and the establishment of a company in Sudan, how to solve the pollution problem caused by oil exploitation, etc.
Miss Huo Jiangtao commented on students’ ideas and introduced how Africa Guangdong Business Association cooperated with African countries.
