IAS Visited the Consulate General of Senegal in Guangzhou

 

On March 21, 2018, Mr. Liu Jisen, Executive Vice President of the Institute for African Studies and Ms. Zeng Yuran, Executive Director of the Global Marketing and Research Center for Chinese Culture, went to the Consulate General of Senegal in Guangzhou, and met with the Mr. Mouhamadou El Bachir Diack, Consulate General of Senegal in Guangzhou, and Dr. Baye Alioune SAMB, Economist and Economic Counselor of the Consulate General of Senegal.

During the meeting, Mr. Diack welcomed the visit of the IAS, reviewed the study on risk control measures for Chinese infrastructure investment, and proposed his viewpoints on future research. Dr. SAMB reviewed previous cooperations between the IAS and the Consulate General, and talked about information sharing and deeper partnership in specific.

Mr. Liu gave a report about the priority and the orientation of the recent work of IAS. He pointed out that IAS will improve its cooperation with Senegal in terms of agriculture, education equipment and vocational education. As the conclusion of the meeting, the both sides decided to step up the cooperation between Guangdong and Senegal. The IAS also decided to assist the Consulate General of Senegal in Guangzhou to organize an economic forum within 2018.
