From May 7th to May 11th, Fu Lang, President of Institute for African Studies (IAS) and Executive Vice-President of Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association, led a team on field trips to Yangjiang city, Zhanjiang city and Maoming city to inspect public diplomacy work. The team consisted of seven members from Standing Council of Guangdong Public Diplomacy Association. Prof. Liu Jisen, Executive President of IAS, and his assistant Qin Hong also participated in the field trip.
During the investigation, the research group listened to reports about foreign exchange from CPPCC of Yangjiang city, Zhanjiang city and Maoming city. President Fu Lang provided constructive suggestions on issues of how to set up municipal Public Diplomacy Association, how to undertake public diplomacy work in the three cities, how to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation, as well as how to promote “The Belt and Road Initiative”, etc.

President Fu Lang was escorted by Qiu Zhiyong, chairman of Yangjiang city CPPCC, Li Long, vice-chairman of Yangjiang city CPPCC, Xu Shun, chairman of Zhanjiang city CPPCC, Zhao Zhihui, vice-chairman of Zhanjiang city CPPCC, and Luo Ming, vice-chairman of Maoming city CPPCC.
