On November 17th, Economic Forum of Senegal in Guangzhou was held in New Pearl River International Hotel. It was co-hosted by Senegalese Consulate General in Guangzhou, Africa Guangdong Business Association, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Prof. Liu Jisen, Executive President of IAS, Huo Jiangtao, Prof. Liu's assistant, and Ji Fei, senor researcher of IAS, attended the forum.

The forum takes "Technology Innovation and Emerging Economy" as its topic, aiming to improve productivity and competitiveness of Senegalese agriculture and industry, to promote technology innovation and development of human resources, and to promote cooperation on agriculture, higher education, industry, training, R&D, investment, trade, etc.

Ibrahima THIOUB, President of University Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal, Ou Jiyan, Guangdong Agricultural Technology Promotion Station, Ma Zhiguang, President of Guangdong Modern Agricultural Equipment Institute, Prof. Nian Hai from South China Agricultural University (SCAU), Zhou Zhiyan, deputy director of National Center for International Collaboration Research on Precision Agricultural Aviation Pesticides Spraying Technology, Dr. Zhang Lei, Dr. Tu Panfeng, Dr. Feng Shujie, Dr. Fan Xiaolin, Dr. Wang Shaokui from SCAU, Huang Bo from CGCOC, were invited to attend the forum. Discussions were held on the cultivation of agricultural talents, agricultural breeding, fertilization, pest control, etc, which contributes to China-Senegal cooperation on agriculture, and improvement in Senegalese agriculture and people's living standard.

Signing Ceremony

On the forum, the signing ceremony was held for strategic cooperation between GDUFS and University Cheikh Anta Diop. Prof. Liu Jisen and Mr. Ibrahima THIOUB signed the contract. Chinese and Senegalese guests witnessed the signing ceremony.
